George Whitefield College was founded in 1989 as the official theological college of the Church of England in

South Africa. In 10 years it has developed into a strategic training centre for men and women from different cultures, nations and denominations preparing them for a variety of Christian ministries.  Situated in Cape Town's beachside suburb of Muizenberg, GWC provides a pleasant and convenient study place for its 65 full-time students.

Its five permanent faculty members, library, university accreditation, and first world/third world location make it a good training choice for South Africans, Africans, and overseas students.

GWC is committed to the Bible as God's Word, to Christ as King, and to Mission as God's purpose. Its training is Bible-centred, ministry orientated and academically rigorous.  Its association with Potchefstroom University of Christian Higher Education enables it to offer theological training at Bachelors, Honours, Masters and Doctoral level, for ministers, missionaries and children's workers.
